RNC ‘Bloodbath’ Begins as More Than 60 Staffers Are Terminated Days After Lara Trump Elected Co-Chair

The Republican National Committee is cutting loose dozens of staffers less than a week after Michael Whatley was elected chair of the RNC and Lara Trump was elected as co-chair.

Trump is the daughter-in-law of former President Donald Trump, who facilitated the ouster of the previous chair, Ronna McDaniel.

On Monday, Politico broke the news of the shakeup in a report titled “Bloodbath at RNC.”

The appointment of Lara Trump has been met with accusations of nepotism. Moreover, Trump raised eyebrows last month when she said “every penny” raised by the RNC should be devoted to reelecting her father-in-law, down-ballot races be damned.

This is exactly what Team Trump envisioned over a year ago. They’re looking to place die-hard Trump loyalists in positions of influence. Should Trump win the White House again, look for Trump World to use the same playbook when selecting his Cabinet and staff. Expect them to hire employees who will do what he says without asking questions or challenging any decisions made. In essence, he won’t be seeking advisors, he’ll be looking for lackeys.

And if there’s anyone who needs to lean on real advisers, it’s Donald Trump.
