Don Lemon nails it on Biden vs Trump endorsement

Former CNN host Don Lemon, known for his candid commentary on political matters, took advantage of his appearance on SiriusXM’s The Dan Abrams Show to express his official endorsement for president. Without the constraints of his former CNN platform, Lemon boldly stated his preference, which didn’t surprise many.

As Lemon continues to navigate his newfound freedom outside of CNN, his words and actions are closely followed by both supporters and critics alike.

“I think given the choices of the people who are in the arena, I couldn’t say this when I was on CNN, but I think Joe Biden is the best choice because I believe even if he is an older person and his words don’t come out, and sometimes he has trouble recalling, he’s going to surround himself with the best people possible, with the best policies possible for the country, and moving into the future and whoever the next person is, will at least have a chance to govern under a full intact democracy in force.”

“And I think if Donald Trump got into office, I don’t think that we would have that. He has said as much. So I think that, you know, Joe Biden’s, you know, whether his decline or whatever you want to say, that doesn’t bother me at all because I think he has the right people in the right places.”

“And guess what? Look at the economy. Look at what’s happening in the country. We’re actually doing really well. We have the best economy in the world. And so, you know, I would say that if he was a Republican. He’s actually doing really, really well under, you know, even with the forces against him, even with the, you know, people who are the Republicans who just won’t – obstructionism.”

I don’t care if Biden isn’t as mentally quick as he was when he was 50. He’s proven he’s still extremely lucid – and he has good people working for him.

Not only do presidents have staffs, but their staffs have also staffs. As for any major decision, a president’s staff submits several options, outlines the pros and cons of each, and gives their opinion on which option is best. A president then simply sits back and makes a decision based on the data provided. And if he/she makes a surprising decision, his/her staff will remind them of the cons of that decision.

So, when a president strays from making the assumed safest possible decision, at least he/she was properly informed and considered all options.

Lemon suggested what many don’t realize – A president’s staff can make or break a presidency.

Surrounding yourself with good people is key for any president – And listening to good advice from intelligent, seasoned subject matter experts, whose job it is to properly inform a leader, is essential.

For the most part, former President Donald Trump didn’t surround himself with good people during his presidency. And the few who were decent didn’t hang around long. Moreover, it was allegedly like pulling teeth to get Trump to listen to any ideas or opinions that strayed from his.

… Is that the type of leader we need?
