The thought of using ChatGPT for a second job inspired Ben as he used the AI chatbot’s ability to assist him with writing cover letters.
Ben reported that GPT-4, the most recent edition of AI, has made his job significantly easier to manage.
“I can just tell it to create a story, and it just does it for me, based on the context that I gave it,” he told Yahoo Finance. But he still needs to tweak the text occasionally, as AI can make mistakes.
While the advances in AI bring worries of job displacement, industry experts such as Ben maintain that their experience is still required for the precision of AI-generated content.
Incidentally, Ben also uses ChatGPT to make it look like he works hard by typing messages to his boss in lowercase.
Mateo G., a 30-year-old from North Jersey working in the food and beverage production field, has been secretly utilizing ChatGPT for his job. Interestingly, his supervisor was unaware of this fact. The icing on the cake is how efficiently he’s been able to get his tasks done with it.
As reported by the New York Post, Mateo saved the day for his whole team when corporate executives pressured his supervisor to finish a huge spreadsheet project. He stepped in and completed it on time without any major issues. Without the help of ChatGPT, Mateo’s project would have taken weeks to finish.
However, utilizing this AI tool enabled him to complete it quickly and effectively within a much shorter timeframe than expected, and the outcome was also perfect.
ChatGPT is becoming more and more commonplace in the workplace, with many users trying to keep it secret from their supervisors. As per a February survey conducted by Fishbowl, an impressive 68% of ChatGPT users prefer to remain discreet about their usage.
Joël Kai Lenz, 27, a corporate writer based in London is a great example – he uses ChatGPT to save time on his work but keeps it under wraps. This speaks to the incredible potential of AI writing assistants in the workplace.
“I wouldn’t go out and scream it from the rooftops,” Kai Lenz said via Yahoo Finance, adding that he avoids the topic when clients inquire about how he completes his work so quickly.
