SORE LOSER? UFC’s Colby Covington loses ‘rigged’ fight

“I thought I had the win. I thought I did enough. The judges have never favored me. Maybe because I support Trump. Everyone hates Trump in this building, so … it is what it is. Life goes on.”

Those are the words of UFC fighter Colby Covington who, according to most experts, lost convincingly last night in the MMA organization’s main event.

All three judges unanimously scored the fight 49-46 in Leon Edwards’s favor and the vast majority of post-fight summaries suggest Edwards clearly won.

Covington added:

“I would rate my performance a 5 out of 10,” he said. “I can sit here all day and make excuses. I could have zigged when I should have zagged. It was a timing thing, because I was off, but that’s the cloth that I was cut from, so I’m not going to make excuses.”

But, what he said was worse than an excuse.

Colby Covington may have talked a big game leading up to UFC 296, but it was Leon Edwards who truly showed his dominance in the octagon. With calm composure and strategic moves, he successfully defended his UFC welterweight title. Despite the ugly pre-fight build-up, Edwards showcased why he is the true champion with an impressive victory over Covington.

Whenever something doesn’t go your way, just say it’s rigged!
